ADC conducted an extended site study of the proposed Performance Center in Asheville for the local firm CJMW Architecture. ADC evaluated the development proposal for the Performance Center alongside the intent of the Asheville Downtown Master Plan, other relative master plans, and current City ordinances. In this extended site study, ADC considered a project area beyond the limits of the project site including the surrounding community, historically known as The Block and the East End/Valley Street Neighborhood.

The goal of this expanded portion of the site study is to explore opportunities that potentially integrate the facilities and services provided on the Performance Center site with future development plans of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church and Eagle/Market Streets Development Corp. Through a series of community events, ADC gathered community input so future developments can reflect the vision the community has for itself. The Block Report was completed in February and is available on our website.
